Kerry Washington goes glam on the cover of Elle's June 2013 issue,
and opens up on the inside pages of the magazine about her early years,
her career success and fashion.
"I'm the luckiest broad in
Hollywood now," she said. "To be the lead actor on "Scandal" and to be
in the highest-earning [Quentin] Tarantino movie -- I don't get to ask
for more."
Washington explained that she originally dreamed of
becoming a clinical psychologist, and that when she was younger, she
"was a kooky theater kid, silly and goofy and academic."
The 36-year-old "Django Unchained" actress added that she also enjoys the "process" of the fashion world.
"I
found out I enjoy the process. All these people show up at my house,
they all have kits, someone has dresses. And it's like, let's have fun.
It's not all about me. We're able to create stories on the red
carpet."
It seems her immaculate red carpet style has turned many heads in the industry,
and the recognition is something she is embracing wholeheartedly.
